These products are generally considered “hook & loop” products. While the traditional system is that of a hook and a loop, some of these products also use an interlocking mushroom like head. This particular 3M item is the loop side. This is a non-adhesive based reclosable fastener. In addition to the other properties this product is flame retardant. This reclosable fastener meets the following standards: ASTM D5169-98, ASTM D5170-98, CID A-A-55126B, FAR 25.853 & FAR 25.855 Appendix F, Part 1.
